I've been extremely excited to reintroduce my mantikel species, so I finally finished this design I recently began! I really let myself go wild with all the colors and shapes, and I had a blast. Species Info:

- Mantikel are an aquatic species that resides in the oceans of Threana. They are friendly with most other Threanan species and are often paid by travelers to transport them to faraway lands

- They are extremely swift in the water, which is necessary for their predatory lifestyle. Mantikel primarily hunt smaller fish, crustaceans, and the like.

- Mantikel, while appearing fish-like, actually have more in common with cephalopods. Their skin is squishy and easy to manipulate; Their "fins" are actually specialized appendages that can reshape themselves into tentacles, legs, fingers, etc. This is why many individuals appear to have "hands". All mantikel have at least 4 of these appendages.

- They also lack bone; Their skulls and spines are made of a cartilage-like material, while the rest of a mantikel's body consists entirely of muscle as well as vital organs. Like many cephalopods, their bodies can be flattened, stuffed into small spaces, etc. with ease.

- Mantikel are extremely diverse, coming in many shapes and sizes! They can grow to as small as a large dog to as long as a bus. Despite the many differences between individuals, Mantikel all have certain traits in common; Gills on the neck (in the form of slits or frills), at least 4 fin-like appendages, large, serrated jaws, and mouth flaps that are used to intimidate or capture prey; Mouth flaps are only seen when the mouth is fully open.
